  NAIS WILL AFFECT US!!!

HOW NAIS (NATIONAL ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM) in planning by the USDA to be mandatory by 2009. Go to Http://nonais.org There is a bill in N.H> that has already passed the house of representatives! It says that we have to record (with whom I don't know) any sale of any goat or sheep in this state ugh!

Thanks for taking the time to check some of this out. Of course there is also PAWS. The little brother to NAIS which wants to seriously curtail the dogs. I can send you stuff on that if you need.

If you get on this N.H. website you can type in Animal ID in the search box. It will bring up all the JUNK that they are trying to do in N.H.and you'll see where our tax dollars go too. NAIS is a USDA proposal but even in our little State of N.H> there is alot of activity that is very detrimental to our FREEDOM. Check out your State's bills (go to the legislative link if you can find yours)
Here is the N.H. place to search for "Animal ID" http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/index/

Also below is a possible flyer of sorts

As you look at this, you might think it is about animals. It is not really! What will happen is ìthe old foot in the doorî , and then what?

The song "This Land is my Land, This land is your land.............." came to my mind this morning.

HOW THE NATIONAL ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM (NAIS) WILL EFFECT YOU

All livestock owners will be obliged to register their homes with the USDA and identify the animals with the USDA official markers. This is unconstitutional.

Cattle owners are somewhat used to tagging, branding and record keeping if they plan on selling their animals or operating a commercial dairy. Imagine having to do that record keeping for your Elsie who gives you a calf a year and some mighty good milk.

Poultry growers with large houses will have a number for the entire flock. Birds from these houses could be removed without any identification, but it's Granny with the dozen layers that the USDA is really after. Granny will have to band or chip every one of the darlings and report their movements. If a coyote happens by one night Granny has to figure out which chickens he took by reading the bands or chips on the rest and then she must report the missing chickens as missing. To do this she will need a scanner to read the markers. The cost of markers and scanner will be Granny's problem but didn't social security just give her raise 5 years ago?

Goat/Sheep folks shouldn't think they've been left out because they've been using those old Scrapie tags. That won't be enough if this passes. You'll need another number for all those animals and you'll be reporting their movements, just like Granny and her birds. Got a dead animal? You've got 24 hours to report that it died. Billy jump the fence? Get on the computer and let the USDA know!

Rabbits don't go anywhere, always in a cage, the USDA won't bother with them, right? WRONG! Tag those bunnies. Each time they have a litter you'll have to report and tag them. Every time they leave your home you report it, you've got a full 24 hours to let them know when you go to a show. And, while your at that show just make sure your rabbit doesn't come into contact with any other or you'll have to report that rabbit's number as well!

Horses are fun for riding and we've got lots of nice trails here in Tennessee. Might not be so much fun soon. Want to go for a ride? Notify the USDA first, and you thought the Coggins test was enough, HA! Come upon another rider on that trail? Steer clear or you'll have to take down the information on that horse, the USDA calls it co-mingling. Insanity might be a better word!

4-H and FFA kids might want to think about doing projects other than those involving animals. Group leaders and parents will be overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork involved in raising an animal and showing it. A trip to the vet is a reportable movement and, again, watch that contact with others or you'll have to get their ID to report as well. Money is always an issue when raising children, the cost of tags and a scanner will surely not be a welcome addition.

County Fairs and Showing your animals should be an enjoyable day out, see people you've not seen since the last show, get a look at some great animals. The USDA will put an end to that. Who will be crazy enough to volunteer to take down the owners ID numbers as well as animal ID numbers and get it all to the USDA within 24 hours? The threat of $1,000 fine would certainly keep most folks from doing it.

Religious Freedom has been guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States. Many religions require meat animals to be intact, unaltered, no shots, no tags. Some believe tagging or microchipping all animals is what has been foretold in the Bible as the Mark of the Beast. Many will not be able to comply given a lack of electricity, phone and computer. Should we ask these folks to leave the country?

Why? There are few simple reasons for all this fuss about farm animals. The USDA thinks that by being able to trace animals they will eliminate the terror threat. The large meat producers are looking for a way to; 1. put the small ones out of business 2. satisfy foreign markets that the meat they are selling is traceable 3. make it safer to buy young stock from foreign markets.

Consumers of Free-Range and Organic meats will be out of luck if this passes. No longer will our chickens be free to roam outside. Small farmers will not survive this attack. Your meat and eggs will come from factory farms, feed lots, confinement operations where animals don't see the light of day.
