BEHAVIOR AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS.........Carlene has been training dogs professionally since 1983 when Meadow Ridge Kennels was established. She has trained to the CDX and Utility levels of AKC Obedience and the Shutzhund I level of German Police Dog trials. Carlene's training has come through many seminars and schools with top national and international trainers. William Koehler, Walt Disney's trainer, was one of her most influential mentors along with Jack and Wendy Volhard of Top Dog Training School.
Through the many seminars, books, training courses, and diligent training of other's dogs, Carlene has developed the "Right Start Puppy Program" which is based on the theory that unless there is a distinct physical problem, there is no reason to have to deal with running away, jumping up, barking, not staying, soiling the house, not riding in the car, aggressive behavior toward people and other animals, and any other every day complaints by owners who call Meadow Ridge.
Having raised and trained over 100 puppies one on one, Carlene has developed this program as a preventative program. HER THEORY IS VERY MUCH BASED UPON PREVENTION OF PROBLEMS AND REWARD OF GOOD AND SOCIAL BEHAVIOR. THROUGH MUCH STUDY, THIS THEORY HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE VERY SUCCESSFUL. She guarantees results to the owner who starts the puppy at between 8 and 9 weeks and works through the entire program and she plans on putting the program into book form in the near future.
Carlene has trained thousands of dogs and their owners over the past 18 years in Classes like the Cheshire Kennel Club, seminars at Meadow Ridge Kennels, and private lessons. She is currently teaching and training at a private level and offers small friendly classes geared toward individual problem solving.
NATURAL AND ALTERNATIVE HEALTH QUALIFICATIONS.....In 1988 Carlene's life changed when she read Dr. Richard Pitcairn's book "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats". At that time she was raising German Shepherds and was spending most of her time at the Vet's office. For 10 years Carlene studied Alternative healing. She went to seminars with world renouned experts like Wendy Volhard and Christina Chambreau DVM, and Dr. Richard Pitcairn DVM and read and studied everything in sight. Carlene has been fortunate to have raised German Shepherds full time and to have been working with the principles taught by the holistic and alternative healing pattern. In the course of her ten years (100's of dogs), diseases like hip dysplasia, german shepherd stomach, skin problems and behavior problems were eradicated from Carlene's breedings. Now she spends her time helping others who want to know about the miracle working power of alternative medicine. Carlene believes that this is the way that God intended animals (and people) to get well. |
